Have you ever been in a charitable frame of mind or just in a mood to give of yourself somehow? If your answer to that question was yes, then you have most likely done some kind of charity work in the past. And if you have not done so before, there is really no better time to start than as soon as is humanly possible. While you might not be an especially rich person, any person who has some energy and the desire to give it to someone who is in need is welcome to help out a charity.
Charities are always welcoming people who have the desire, if not the wealth, to be useful to the needier people in this world. While you might not be able to pay a construction company to build a soup kitchen, you could always carry materials, bring water to the laborers and help clear away the area for the people who have the most specialized skills. And if you do have some specialized skills which most people lack, so much the better! Skilled trades people are always good to have around, both as an example of people who are self actualizing and for the actual work that they can do.
When it comes to any sort of work that needs to be done, all you generally have to do is get in contact with a charitable organization and ask them how you can help them. There is always something which can be done, and the more skills you can bring to the table the more helpful you can be to the people who need it the most. It may not be glamorous, but you’ll feel better for helping.
